Harvey Moses, 43, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to stealing a four-diamond gold knot ring, worth £1,550, from a dwelling in Prince Albert Street, Brighton. Jailed for 20 weeks; magistrates noted he had previous convictions for similar offences. Ordered to pay an £80 victim surcharge.

Chane Ian Hill, 42, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to stealing five packs of razors, worth £50.83, from an address in London Road, Brighton. Fined £73 plus £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Paul Andrew Wheeler, 49, of Dyke Road Avenue, Brighton, was found guilty of speeding on a 60 mph road. Fined £420 plus £42 victim surcharge and £85 costs. License endorsed with three points.

Lucas Peake, 25, of Castle Street, Brighton, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. Detention deemed served due to time already spent in custody. No order for costs, due to “many errors and trips to court.”

Momodou Cham, 49, of Richmond Place, Brighton, pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis. Given a 12-month conditional discharge; magistrates said it was his first offence, used the cannabis for medicinal purposes, and co-operated. Ordered to pay £15 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Mark Alexander Coleman, 35, of Glenwood Lodge, Grand Parade, Brighton, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly. Fined £73 plus £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs. Offence committed while on a suspended sentence for assault. Operational period of the 12-week suspended sentence extended by three months, to 15 months. Supervision requirement also extended by three months.

Robert Pearce, 29, of Compton Road, Brighton, pleaded guilty to stealing three cans of alcohol, worth £6.43, from the Co-op in Western Road, Hove; and racially aggravated use of threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour. Admitted two charges of committing an offence while subject to a conditional discharge. Fined £146, plus £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Jake Eugene Linden, 39, of Regency Square, Brighton, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with a police constable’s order to leave a given place and not return within eight hours. Fined £33 and ordered to pay £15 victim surcharge and £85 costs. 

George Harry Lawrence, 19, of Birch Grove Crescent, Brighton, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. Ordered to take part in 30 ‘building better relationships’ sessions, do 80 hours’ unpaid work and be supervised for twelve months. Also ordered to pay £60 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Danielle Saunders, 25, of Bolney Road, Brighton, pleaded guilty to trying to steal various car accessories, worth £60.91, from Halfords; failing to answer bail; stealing linen from Mothercare; stealing two purses, worth £56, from Cath Kidston; also admitted failing to comply with a community order. Ordered to have six-months of drug dependency treatment, and be supervised for 12 months. Ordered to pay £60 victim surcharge.

Thomas David Skinner, 19, of William Collier House, North Road, Brighton, was found guilty of fraud by dishonestly making false representation intending to make £60. Ordered to pay £60 compensation and £140 costs.

Gregory Horrabin, 46, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to three counts of fraud by false representation, by fraudulently presenting clothing to customer services to get a refund, in Brighton and Hove. One incident would have made him £88.50, the second £30, and the third value was not stated. The first charge was joint with another. Ordered to take part in six alcohol intervention sessions and be supervised for six months. Also ordered to pay a £60 victim surcharge and £40 costs.

Ross Reeves, 30, of Hereford Court, Brighton, pleaded guilty to resisting a constable doing his duty, failing to answer bail. Fined £110 plus £20 victim surcharge, ordered to pay £85 costs.

Roger Frederick Thomas Osgood, 68, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to breaching an anti-social behaviour order, by possessing an open alcohol container in public in New Road, Brighton; using threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour. Fined £100 plus a £20 victim surcharge.
