A CARPENTER has died in hospital after he fell 20ft from a building site a month ago.
Dave Clarke, 55, was working at a stable block next to Stanmer House on September 30 when he was believed to have fallen through a ceiling.
Emergency services helped to air lift him to hospital where he has remained in a critical condition ever since.
Today Sussex Police confirmed a 55-year-old man has died but could not give any more details at this time.
Tributes have poured in on social media saying Mr Clarke would be remembered and was a fighter until the end.
Mr Clarke, who is from Hove, was sub-contracted by businessman Mike Holland’s Hove-based Cherrywood Investments, which is converting the building.
Earlier this month the police and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) said they were investigating the accident.
