TRAVELLERS remain at a seafront car park – two weeks after moving in.

The caravans are parked on land at Black Rock in Madeira Drive, Brighton.

Anthony Hyde, who lives near to the site, said: “It’s a disgrace that nothing ever seems to be done about this ongoing problem.”

Initially, Brighton and Hove City Council officers visited the site with the police and carried out statutory checks, telling the travellers they were trespassing on council-owned land and asked them to leave.

The council decided to apply for a possession order for its land from the County Court.

The council is now arranging for an eviction to carried out on Thursday should they fail to leave the site voluntarily.

A group of travellers also remain on land in Coldean Woods. The council has applied for a possession order and is waiting for a response.
