A man has been arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving after a beloved teenager died.

Alex Jackson, 19, of Brighton, was a passenger in the BMW, and died after a collision between the car and Skoda in Warren Road, Brighton, on 27 November.

Two other passengers in the car are being treated for serious injuries - Chantelle Marriott, an 18-year-old Brighton woman at the Royal Sussex County Hospital and Scott Hammond, a Brighton man, aged 22, at St George's Hospital, London.

The 26-year-old man from Brighton, driving the Skoda suffered minor injuries.

Police announced today the driver of the BMW, aged 29 from Peacehaven, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and bailed to January 22.

Officers wish to speak to anyone who saw the collision or who saw either of the vehicles being driven in the minutes beforehand.
