The closing of the Eaton Place Surgery (The Argus, November 27) is due to take place at the end of February 2015.

The NHS also writes saying they would try and find suitable alternative premises. However on November 10 they wrote to say that nothing suitable had been found.

In fact a new surgery is being built in the Marina and will be ready by next autumn.

Already most of the Eaton Place Surgery patients visit the marina regularly where there are excellent car parks, bus services, a taxi rank and a pharmacy.

So the problem is one of timing – closing one surgery and opening another – surely not beyond the wit of everyone involved?

The existing staff would be able to move and not be redundant and the two excellent doctors replaced.

Now the NHS say that no doctors have come forward, but I have heard of two who could be interested.

If the NHS and Eaton Place Surgery want to help the 5,600 patients why don’t they get together at the marina offices and sort out the problem?
