Two men have been charged with burglary after a homeowner found two intruders in his home.
Police were called to Kipling Avenue in Goring, Worthing, at 2pm on Friday after a neighbour disturbed two intruders inside his house.
Two people were arrested nearby a short time later.
DC Jon Woolley said: "There has been a spate of burglaries in the Goring area recently. We would ask for members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious people and vehicles. We are also asking residents in Goring to check their gardens for any discarded clothing and jewellery which may have been stolen."
Mark Coop, 26, of Whitebeam Road, Durrington has been charged with burglary. Robert Mayers, 19, also of Whitebeam Road, has been charged with burglary, possessing an offensive weapon and assaulting a police officer.
They appeared at Crawley Magistrates yesterday (Monday) where they were remanded in custody to appear at Chichester Crown Court on December 22.
