Victims of burglary are being asked if they recognise a haul of items recovered after police raids.

More than 100 items were recovered by Sussex Police after officers raided a number of garages in Rustington last year. The items include china collections, paintings and clocks.

Detectives have been able to link some of them to a number of burglaries in Angmering in 2013, but there are still many more that are yet to be identified.

Police have now set up a dedicated web page that lists all the unclaimed items in a bid to reunite them with their owners.

It is suspected the items were stolen in burglaries in West Sussex last year or earlier.

Detective Constable Katy Lewis said: "There are still more than 30 items that we want to give back to the owners. They include golf equipment, ski boots, power tools and a distinctive painting of sail boats.

"Please get in touch with us if you recognise any of the items. It would help with our investigation and could allow us to connect a burglary to the person responsible."

The items that have been identified were stolen in burglaries in Ham Manor Way, East Drive, West Drive and North Drive - all in Angmering last year.

Anthony Grist, 40, then of Wolstenbury Road, Rustington, was charged with handling stolen goods for storing the items in the garages that he rented.

Grist pleaded guilty to the charges when he appeared at Chichester Crown Court in February and was jailed for 12 months.

Anyone who recognises any of the items is asked to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 505 of 04/06, call 101 or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
