A Mediterranean cafe has thrown its support behind Small Business Saturday.

Paris Cafe Bar, in Fenchurch Walk, Brighton, opened in 2008 and has gone from strength to strength.

Chef Eris Deraj, originally from Montenegro, was there from the start.

The 32-year-old said: “We are not a big chain, all our food is fresh and homemade – we don’t even have a freezer.

“Brighton is a great place to have a small business. I’m not from here originally but it feels like home.”

He added: “We get all our produce locally and we change the menu all the time, you wouldn’t get that with a big chain.”

Small Business Saturday is held on the first Saturday in December in an attempt to give local firms a boost.

Each day this week in the run up to Small Business Saturday we will be featuring an independent Sussex firm.
