A hallucinating man armed himself with a baseball bat believing there were intruders in his home.
Police were called to the 34-year-old's home in Barnhorn Road, Bexhill, where they were confronted with the bat-wielding man at just after midnight.
Officers were able to persuade the man to hand the weapon over and he was taken to hospital at 1.20am this morning.
A few hours later, police were called back to the same area to deal with reports of a man acting suspiciously around cars.
Police arrived just before 10am to find the same 34-year-old man, this time without a weapon.
He was once again taken to hospital.
Nobody was injured in either incident.
