With his shaggy blond mullet, comedian Paul Foot looks the double of a man Sussex Police want to talk to in connection with a church break in.
But after spotting the story in The Argus the comedian Tweeted his 50,000 followers to confirm he is not guilty.
“To the Brighton police looking for this man who broke into a church,” wrote Foot on the social media site yesterday.
“I have an alibi and can confirm it was not me.”

The comedian, once described by The Daily Express as “a cult classic, a relic from the past, a rare exotic bird”, has appeared on Never Mind The Buzzcocks and 8 Out Of 10 Cats.
He is known for his hatred of pop culture and calls his cult followers The Guild of Connoisseurs - but he will not be appearing in court anytime soon.
Anyone with information should email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or phone 101, quoting serial 1583 of October 27.
Alternatively, they can call the independent charity Crimestoppers free and anonymously on 0800 555111.
