Congratulations and best wishes go out to the couples who will be getting married on the very first day the law allows it next week.

The civil partners are changing their existing partnerships into marriages following a change in the law.

For those like Ian Scott and Ron Williams, who met in the 1960s, being married was something they thought would never happen, but that day has finally arrived.

The ten couples are at the forefront of marriage equality for the LGBT community and it is a special day to celebrate.

Hopefully many more couples will be doing the same over the years.

This historic change now means all those who love each other have the opportunity to commit to each other and have the same legal rights and opportunities – regardless of their sexual orientation.
