I would like to comment on some of the points raised by Liz Walker (Letters, January 28).
I believe her concerns about the water supply in tower block developments are well founded and would single out the proposed plans for Brighton Marina as a perfect example.
Apart from the frequent drought orders which are now being imposed in the South East, it is already well known that there are serious water pressure problems throughout the area.
An employee from Southern Water advised residents some time ago that with the local water system already under severe strain, there would be a problem in coping with supply to any new housing developments in the area.
At the last count, the two proposed projects in Brighton Marina would create around 1,300 new homes.
As Ms Walker suggests, in future all developers of tall buildings should be required to submit plans which utilise ideas such as desalination plants before their proposals will be considered.
