A TEENAGER has been convicted of burglary and possession of cannabis.
Ryan Lee Marsh, 18, of Sackville Gardens, East Grinstead, appeared before Crawley magistrates last Wednesday (January 28).
He admitted stealing tools and a shower unit from a house that was being renovated in Maypole Road, Ashurst Wood, on July 24 last year.
Police traced the stolen items to Marsh's home address where he was trying to sell them on.
Marsh also pleaded guilty to possessing 12 bags of cannabis, which were found after he was stopped by police.
Marsh was issued with a one-year community order, to include 140 hours of unpaid work, and was ordered to pay costs of £145.
Sergerant Graeme Prentice, from the Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "Marsh was convicted after positive interaction from the community and a quick response from police following the theft.
"Hopefully the sentence he's received will have a positive impact on his life and stop his offending."
