No system is perfect. Some central Brighton parents still face a lengthy journey to secondary schools in Hove. But at least we no longer have to face the charade of having to tour the closest secondary schools knowing there is no hope of geting a place.
Thanks to all on the children, families and schools committee for their hard work and the courage to take a tough decision in the face of violent intimidation from some parents.
It's almost enough to restore your faith in local democracy.
