I would like to air my disgust at the manner in which Labour has conducted the schools admissions review from beginning - selective parent consultation - to end, with the lastminute sacking of a councillor because she would have tipped the vote against the proposals.

This is an absolute outrage, regardless of the issue.

If Labour continues to address issues with their own hidden agendas, they will prove they are not to be trusted to fairly represent the people who have elected them.

I have voted Labour previously but will not do so again at the next elections. I believe heads should roll for this.

As for the schools decision itself, parents will not give up and will continue to fight Brighton and Hove City Council over this.

Poorer areas of Brighton are going to get poorer and the richer areas of Brighton will become overcrowded with families moving in to get the "better" schools.

The result will be increased oversubscription - these parents will soon complain when they don't get the school on their doorstep because they have to go to a ballot.

My postcode comes within the single Falmer catchment area and I do not disapprove of this improving school. In fact, I went there, did well and am more than happy for my children to go there.

But I do disapprove of the lack of choice which Labour say should be given to all parents.

Is there anyone we can trust to make decisions for us any more?

If you find that person, let me know.
