A WOULD-BE robber tried to take a 51-year-old man’s wallet after dark.
The local resident was getting out of his car in a car park outside a block of flats in Winchelsea Road, Eastbourne, when he was approached by a man who attacked him with a bat of some kind and demanded his wallet.
Fortunately the victim only received minor injuries and managed to escape without anything being taken.
The suspect made off from the scene in the direction of Wartling Road after the encounter at about 5.40pm on Monday, February 9.
Now police have released an e-fit of the suspect.
Detective Constable Dan Thomson said: “The suspect is described as white, of pale complexion and in his early 20s, wearing dark clothing and a balaclava.
