A MOTORIST was stopped by a pedestrian who then threw a cup of liquid over him.

Police are investigating the incident which happened on Langney Road, Eastbourne, close to Bonner's Music store.

The victim was driving his car when he was flagged down by a pedestrian. After an exchange of words the pedestrian threw a cup of liquid - believed to be something corrosive - over the victim before running off.

The victim sustained minor injuries from the liquid and was forced to seek medical attention.

The pedestrian is described as being a white male, 20 to 25 years of age, stocky build and between 5' 8" and 6'. He was wearing a dark coloured bandana style hat and dark coloured jacket.

The incident took place at at approximately 11pm on Tuesday, January 20. Sussex Police has only today released details of the incident.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time, especially two men who were standing on the pavement close by.
