A WOMAN shaved off her multi-coloured hair to raise money for her friend’s cancer treatment.
Amy Beckwith, 20, who works in marketing for Irregular Choice in Bond Street, Brighton, intended to collect £1,500 by publically shaving her head on Saturday.
A small crowd gathered to cheer on Miss Beckwith, who sat in a chair outside the Simon Webster Hair salon in Gardener Street.
She is raising money for her friend Samantha Beaven, 28, a mother of two from Brighton, who has cervical cancer that has spread to her brain.
Mrs Beaven needs to raise more than £80,000.
Miss Beckwith said: “My hair is important to me but nothing’s more important than family.”
