Sussex Police has donated £250 to a voluntary group working to improve the local area.

The money will help the Battle Local Action Planning Group consult with residents about how they would like to see the East Sussex town improved, and make it happen.

Chair Clive Mills said: “The donation has come at a critical time for the group, in that they are about to embark on an important consultation process that will set priorities for the town for the next five years.”

The money is from the Police Property Act Fund (PPAF), made up of money received from the sale of property confiscated by the courts.

PCSO Daryl Holter said: "I was pleased to be able to present the donation.

"We are very fortunate in Battle to have many groups of volunteers that want to make a difference to the town and we hope that this donation will help them with their cause."
