Overnight showers will clear away to bring a largely dry day with some bright or sunny intervals developing.

There could however be some increase in cloud cover in the afternoon and possibly be the odd spot of rain.

Tonight it will be cloudy and it is expected rain will spread southwards.

It may just be patchy light rain or drizzle but with it a brisk south-westerly wind.

The outlook for the rest of the week: Rain across much of the UK on Thursday will push south-eastwards during the day.

Sunny spells and showers will follow the rain.

Sunny spells on Friday, and showers in western areas.
