I cannot agree more with Sharman Walker’s letter of thanks in The Argus on February 13. The need to share positive experiences is essential.
I am 70 years young and underwent a cataract operation this February at the Sussex Eye Hospital, Brighton.
What might have been a challenging experience for me was turned into an uplifting journey because of the kindness of the staff and their care for their patients.
Because I already have glaucoma it was a complicated procedure, beautifully executed by the surgeon and theatre staff. I have nicknamed them the A team.
Far from the NHS not working, these guys have shown me the best of their team-working.
I would be most obliged if you could print this letter as a thank you to the cataract team at the Sussex Eye Hospital – all the staff from skilled surgeon to smiling nurses and receptionists.
