More than 900 people have applied for 192 jobs at John Lewis and Waitrose.

The high-end retailer, which is owned by staff, is recruiting for its new John Lewis At Home Horsham shop and expanded Waitrose supermarket.

The new 45,000 sq ft John Lewis store will share its location on Albion Way with a 27,000 sq ft Waitrose supermarket.

The existing Waitrose in Horsham will be relocated to the new site and all 120 current partners will also be transferred.

Both shops are due to open later this year.

Rebekah Hawley, personnel growth manager at John Lewis, said: “We’ve been extremely impressed with the calibre of candidates who have applied for positions at our new John Lewis ‘At Home’ and Waitrose, Horsham.

“Those who are successful will benefit from the John Lewis Partnership’s unique structure, meaning they will all be co-owners of the business and receive a host of benefits.”
