BONES found in a forest belong to a 42-year-old who went missing nearly a year ago, police have confirmed.
DNA analysis has confirmed the bones found in Tilgate Forest, Pease Pottage in February are that of missing Jean Leveque.
Two bones were found by someone fishing near a pond in Parish Lane, Pease Pottage in January.
The two bones were identified as Jean's as a result of analysis by a forensic archaeologist and by DNA comparison. A wider search in February found the rest of the body deeper in the forest.
His death continues to be treated as unexplained rather than suspicious, and the coroner has been informed.
Mr Leveque, of Hawth Close, Crawley, was reported missing in May last year.
