My husband and I enjoy watching Top Gear and find the programme very entertaining (Argus, March 12).

From week to week we are eager to find out what the trio have been doing. Usually, the Hamster and the Pianist suffer at the hands of the Mouthpiece.

It is a good programme with three very different presenters. However, while saying that Jeremy Clarkson, pictured, is a good lead presenter, he does have a tendency to become loud and overbearing.

The programme is called Top Gear, and not the Jeremy Clarkson show.

This is not the first time that he has been in trouble for something he has said or done. Insulting and assaulting behaviour are totally unacceptable.

Unfortunately, the time has come when the BBC have to stand firm and sack him.

We are sure there are plenty of other people who are perfectly capable of hosting this programme. Why can’t the Hamster take over. It would be a great pity if the programme were to end.
