FIVE armed robberies are being linked by police after another raid by pistol wielding bandits this weekend.

The robberies around East Worthing and Shoreham are being linked Sussex Police announced today and two people have been arrested in connection. 

The linked robberies are Uncle Sams takeaway in Crabtree Lane, Lancing, on 3 January, Uncle Sams takeaway in Upper Shoreham Road, Shoreham, on 22 February, Betfred bookmakers in Findon Road, Findon Valley on 5 March and Ladbrokes bookmakers in Rowlands Road, on 9 March and the Co-op store in Royal George Parade, Upper Shoreham Road, Shoreham, on 15 March.

Two people have been arrested in connection with the Co-op store robbery in Shoreham.

A 33-year-old man from Burgess Hill has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery and a 23-year-old Shoreham woman was arrested on suspicion of making without payment.

They have both been bailed for further enquiries until 2 May.

Detective Inspector Rob Walker said: "We are linking five armed robberies in Shoreham, Lancing and Worthing and are appealing for information from the public."
