L Stringer(Letters, February 6) should stop buying supermarket beefburgers - most mass-produced meat products, including bacon, declare the water content and will "spit' and shrink in the pan, leaving a watery residue.
I stopped eating meat long ago and have found some delicious veggie burgers in health stores.
I would personally recommend Fry's Original but there are plenty more to choose from. Supermarkets also stock some, including Quorn products.
And if you still want to eat meat, what's wrong with making your own burgers. My mum used to knock them up in ten minutes.
