I am writing in response to the article "catchment area misery for 74" (The Argus, January 30) to say how grateful we are to Martin Powell for speaking up about the catchments areas that won't catch all of the children living in those areas and how right it was of him to inform us of what is going on.

We totally agree with him that this process should not go ahead until all of the data has been checked. What is the point of bringing in catchment areas that won't catch?
