A TEENAGE girl was hit by a brick thrown through a van window.
The 17-year-old victim was sitting in the passenger seat of the grey Astra van which was parked in Battle Road, Hastings, when she was struck by the brick at about 5pm on Monday.
She turned away to shield herself when the driver’s window smashed and the brick hit her on the back which left her shaken and with cuts and bruises.
The black man, who was about 6ft 2ins tall with curly hair ran off. He was wearing a grey tracksuit and a beanie hat.
Sergeant Paul Elrick said: "This was a very frightening incident for the victim and neither her nor her boyfriend can think of any reason why she would have been targeted.
"We need to speak to anyone who was in Battle Road on Monday and saw the brick being thrown or the offender running off. If you recognise the description of him, or have any information, please contact us urgently."
Anyone with information should call 101 quoting 1104 of 16/03.
