A GIRL was left "frightened" after she was approached by two men in a car as she walked to school.

At of around 8am on Thursday a 14-year-old girl walking to school in Victoria Drive, Bognor Regis, was approached by two men in a car whom she believed wanted her to go with them.

She described it as a small, dark-coloured car. No physical attempt was made to get the girl into the vehicle and while the men's intentions were not known the girl nevertheless felt frightened.

Detective Constable Ceri Spratt, of West Sussex CID, said: "This sort of incident is still very rare in Sussex and we would not want to cause unnecessary alarm.

"But it's perhaps timely for parents and schools to remind children of 'stranger danger' and advise them to be wary of any unusual approaches such as this.

"Meanwhile anyone who may have witnessed the incident in Victoria Drive or who may have other relevant information is asked to contact police by e-mailing 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or phone 101, quoting serial 198 of 19/3."
