Wartime shells were discovered on a beach and detonated by police.
Officers from Sussex Police and explosives specialists attended the scene at Shoreham Harbour this evening and identified the shells as Second World War.
At 6.30pm the bomb squad detonated the shells safely.
Earlier this week a cache of 80 incendiary grenades were discovered at a building site in Eastbourne.
More to follow.
Shells all detonated. They went with an impressive BOOM! Very little left too which shows they were still full of explosives, apparently.
