POLICE were called after a secondary school's twitter account was hacked to pretend their head teacher had joined a porn site.
Oriel High School in Crawley had its official Twitter feed hacked in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Tweets included a picture of head teacher Philip Stack's face pasted on to a muscle-bound man sporting a pair of briefs.
The accompanying caption read “round of applause for our magnificent head” and suggested he had a contract with a porn website.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “On Sunday we received a report that inappropriate material had been posted on the Oriel High School, Crawley, Twitter account.
“The school de-activated the account. They were advised to contact Twitter to discuss any further security measures.
“The Surrey and Sussex Police Computer Crime Unit will also examine the report to consider what further police enquiries will be necessary.”
