A giant cuddly polar bear which has been greeting restaurant customers and raising money for The Argus Appeal has been named in a readers' competition.
Hannah Marks, nine, from Windlesham Gardens, Brighton, said the bear at Donatello in The Lanes, Brighton, should be called Neve - Italian for snow.
Hannah wins a pizza a week for the next year. The Brighton College pupil said: "I'm so pleased to win. I called the bear Neve because it was outside an Italian restaurant and I thought it needed an Italian name."
Donatello owner Sue Addis said: "We thought Hannah showed a lot of initiative and originality by coming up with an Italian name.
She put in a lot of effort."
Last week we reported thieves had stolen an Argus Appeal collection box from the bear's neck. We have replaced it and donations are flooding in again.
