S Howell's letter (The Argus, March 3) prompts a question.
Why should war memorials, unless specifically to commemmorate members of a certain congregation, be located in Christian places of worship?
A large number of those killed in the 1914-18 and 1939-45 wars were non-Christian, and no doubt many were non-religious.
