In response to the letter from Mr Read letter about Shoreham Harbour (Letters, March 1), although sea access to the port may be in Shoreham, land access to the south side of the port is in Hove.
As a resident of Portslade (part of Brighton and Hove), I would also suggest that most of the heavy lorry transport heads north, away from the port through Portslade.
If Mr Read would like the harbour's HGV traffic to make its way through the residential streets of Southwick and Shoreham, that would be fine by me.
I think, unfortunately, a little give and take is required from all who use the port facilities.
It's something we all endure.
