Members of the public are being asked for their opinion on a major development which will include 800 homes.

Crawley Borough Council is inviting residents to view the details of Town Centre North - a scheme to turn the centre of Crawley into a regional centre for shopping, leisure, business and culture.

From Friday, March 16 to Sunday, March 18, an exhibition will be on display at County Mall with staff on hand to explain the suggestions.

The emphasis is on environmental sustainability, the council says.

Claire Denman, executive member for planning, said: "These are exciting plans for the town centre. As the new town celebrates its 60th anniversary, it is time to update our Fifties town centre.

"Get involved and make sure your views are heard."

The consultation finishes on April 6 and developers, Grosvenor Properties Ltd, are expected to submit a planning application towards the end of the year.

Comments should be sent to the planning division at the Town Hall, The Boulevard, Crawley, RH10 1UZ.
