I was pleased to see your article showing how the people of Brighton and Hove can make a difference this Mother's Day by sponsoring a safe birth in Ethiopia (The Argus, March 9).
We'd like to thank readers of The Argus for their great response. As a volunteer for Maternity Worldwide, I have visited their project in Gimbie, Western Ethiopia, and I have seen the difference the charity's work is making.
In an area where one in seven women die in pregnancy or childbirth, their work is vital.
By sponsersing a safe birth for £15, as The Argus readers have done, you can ensure the safety of a woman during childbirth.
Thanks for making a difference!
