THE Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust is losing money from its day-to-day running cost, and has lost close on £10 million over recent years on litigation.
Because of these losses, we in Mid Sussex face the possibility of losing our accident and emergency cover at the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath, our materity service or possibily the whole hospital, which is only 12 years old.
If this happens people in Mid Sussex will be forced to go to the Royal Sussex, an inaccessible hospital.
Who is to blame for these litigation costs and who is blame for losses on its day-to-day costs? How long can the chief executive keep his job and fat salary and fat featherbedded pension?
