Though best-known as the scruffy drummer behind spiky art-rock Glaswegians Franz Ferdinand, Paul Thomson is set to show another hitherto unknown side to his skills tomorrow.
Paul is the headline DJ at Massacre, at the Ocean Rooms in Brighton, in the first of a series of DJ slots around the country.
Franz Ferdinand enjoyed a rapid rise in popularity after starting out playing warehouse gigs in and around Glasgow.
Support slots with the likes of Belle and Sebastian, as well as the coveted opening slot on the 2004 NME Awards Tour saw their popularity ascend.
Now they two top-rated albums to their name, including their Mercury Music Prize-winning eponymous debut, and are currently working on that difficult third album.
Backing Paul up will be Johnny Rocks, of Chaos Rocks, The Dailey Thompson Twins from Sabotage and Gaz Marlow of the Guerilla Twins.
- From 11pm, £7.50 in advance. Call 01273 699069.
