Just one mention of its age and the Zap Club is blushing as the whole venue decks itself out in red to mark not only its 22nd birthday but also Comic Relief night.

Some very special guest DJs have responded to the party invitations, many of whom have rocked the Zap over the past 22 years.

Headlining the night will be international superstar Tall Paul, of Turnmills, Radio One and Pussycat Club fame, and Chris Coco, the man behind the Coco Club.

Joining them will be Brighton's own Pete Haywood (one of the original artists to play at cuttingedge nights like Shame), Nippa and Al Outram.

Look out for some live VJ mixing of Zap images and footage from over the past 22 years.

Manager Charlie Landgridge said: "We hope to raise a significant sum for Red Nose Day while celebrating the birthday of one of the oldest and most prestigious clubs in the world."

In 1984 the club was created by architect Anthony Browne from two seafront arches, and extended again in 1996 to create a venue which has seen performances by both bands like The Cranberries and Oasis, as well as DJ slots by Norman Cook, Carl Cox and Goldie.
