A MAN was bundled into a car and kidnapped from a residential street.
The man was captured on CCTV being manhandled into a car in Prince’s Terrace, Brighton, in daylight on Sunday.
He has not been seen since.
Sussex Police’s major crime branch are investigating the kidnapping after a neighbour reported witnessing the incident at around 5pm.
Detectives are now analysing video footage that captured the entire drama.
The owner of the CCTV said: “A car pulled up. Two blokes got out and then a third guy got out.
“They were looking quite agitated.
“Then a taxi pulled up and a man got out the cab.
“Then you could see all these blokes running around and throwing him on the floor and then bundling him into the back of the car. They picked him up and were chucking him around with quite a lot of force.
“It was clear they weren’t going for a cup of tea with him.
“The whole thing only lasted a couple of minutes so it’s really lucky the cameras caught it.
“People generally live in the back of their houses so it was just good fortune one man was looking out the window when it happened.
“The police came around knocking on the door and we said they could look at our CCTV.
“They had seen our footage by 11pm on Sunday night but no-one could work out how to download it.
“I can’t believe they haven’t publicised an appeal for him yet though.
“You would think if this man has been kidnapped someone would have reported him missing and if he still hasn’t been found surely it’s important to let people know.”
Police conducted door-to-door enquiries in the area on Sunday evening and the street remained cordoned off for most of the following day.
However, Sussex Police said they could not provide any details of the “fast moving, ongoing investigation” or confirm whether they knew the identity of the victim yet.
A Sussex Police spokeswoman said they are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident but could not release any more information yesterday afternoon.
