It’s risky enough being a standalone comic but when there are three of you it can be even harder to get an audience onside unless the chemistry is good.

Happily young, energetic Irish trio Foil, Arms and Hog are instantly likeable, and had the audience onside from the get go. With the tallest of the three looking and sounding every inch like a young Dylan Moran, this trio have been an Edinburgh Fringe favourite since their first appearance in 2012 and they deserve to be a Brighton Fringe favourite after this performance.

While many of the subjects are not ‘new’ (taking the mickey out of political correctness for example) the quick-fire succession of sketches on subjects as varied as narcissism, advertising, political correctness and stealing a pint were performed with an unwavering charisma, complete with the occasional, welcome lapse into ‘out there’ self-deprecating improv.

When performers inject this much fun into proceedings the resulting enthusiasm is infectious. Standout sketches included the dark mime, the audience in the living room and the simple but effective take on Deerhunter, while an encore saw them perform a delightful Microsoft Windows dance routine.

Definitely one to bring your friends along to.
