A man has been charged with sexual offences against children.
Andrew Fluke, unemployed, 45, of Rosslyn Avenue, Shoreham, appeared in custody at Brighton Magistrates Court on Monday charged with the rape of a seven-year old girl known to him between 2009 and 2010, and with attempting to incite a young girl to engage in indecency via on-line video contact.
He was remanded in custody for an initial hearing at Lewes Crown Court on June 5.
The prosecution follows an investigation by detectives from the Brighton Safeguarding Investigations Unit.
Detective Constable Stewart Cameron said: "Anyone who has concerns on learning of this or similar investigations can contact us via 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101, quoting serial 1207 of April 15, and arrange to speak in confidence to experienced detectives.
