Tens of thousands of pounds worth of crack cocaine and cannabis was found in a taxi driver's boot.

The 46-year-old was arrested after passing officers smelt cannabis at a service station in Eastbourne Road, Eastbourne, on Thursday evening.

His taxi was searched and three bags of cannabis, worth £40,000, were found in the boot of the taxi, and £80,000 worth of cocaine was also recovered. He was arrested for possession with intent to supply and is in custody.

Other significant arrests were also made in the town on Thursday after an operation in Firle Road.
