THE X Factor was back in town for one day only – but may have already found a new star.
Blue-haired Frankie Day impressed producers after singing her own song, Behind the Broken Glass.
The 17-year-old, from Rustington, was second in line to audition at the Churchill Square Shopping Centre yesterday after turning up at 8am.
She said: “It is a huge dream for me, to be a recording artist and sing all over the world. I wrote the song because I had been going through some hard times at school and needed the relief.”
Frankie, who goes to The Northbrook College, Worthing, has been invited back to sing for a second time ahead of a potential audition in front of the celebrity judges in the summer.
She has been practicing by doing gigs at Costa in Rustington, where she works as a barista.
Her audition went well, she said, adding: “They also asked me a few questions, like who is your favourite X Factor judge. I said Mel B. She is fierce.”
