TWO teenagers were badly burnt after a can of hairspray exploded on a barbecue.
Ambulance services were called to the siblings, a 12-year-old-boy and a 14-year-old girl, at The Willows in Storrington this morning.
A spokesman from West Sussex Fire and Rescue said the can, which was in the fire pit, exploded after they used paper to try to light it.
The boy suffered burns to about 40% of his body while his sister sustained superficial burns to her hands and knees.
The teenagers were both sent to hospital after paramedics and an air ambulance were dispatched.
A local crew extinguished the fire with buckets of water and no property was damaged.
12 and 14 year old siblings both taken to hospital with burns after putting aerosol in fire pit today. Please don't 'play with fire'.
