A Palm Sunday procession today featured life size puppets of Jesus and two of his disciples.
Several hundred people, many from the congregation of St Mary's Church in Goring, took to the streets and marched along IIex Way to the church.
They were led by Eli the donkey and joined by Celebration Samba, members of the Sunday school, Brownies and youth groups.
A special service took place at the church for about 300 people.
Palm Sunday marks the beginning of the week leading up to Easter.
The Rev Andrew Tremlett, of St Mary's Church, said: "It was wonderful to see so many people of all ages taking part on this special day. Every year this becomes more of a community event, bringing the congregation of St Mary's and the local residents together at one of the most significant times in the Christian calendar."
