A motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries after crashing.
Police closed off the roads at the junction of Pound Street, Station Road and the A272, Petworth, for around three hours after his bike and a car collided this afternoon.
The accident happened on the roundabout which links all three roads.
The male motorcyclist was taken to St Richard's Hospital, Chichester, just before 4pm.
West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said the driver of the car was trapped and had to freed using hydraulic cutting equipment but was largely unhurt.
