Theatre Royal Brighton enters its third century under the ownership and management of the Ambassador Theatre Group, currently the largest theatre group in the West End and the second largest in the UK regions.

Their 24 venues include 11 high-profile West End theatres (The Comedy, Donmar Warehouse, Duke of York's, Fortune, New Ambassadors, Phoenix, Playhouse, Piccadilly, Savoy and Trafalgar Studios 1 and 2) as well as regional theatres all over the country, among them Theatre Royal Glasgow, Bromley's Churchill Theatre and The Ambassadors in Woking.

Current and recent ATG co-production successes in London include Guys & Dolls starring Ewan McGregor, Ruby Wax in The Witches, the Gershwins' Porgy And Bess, Matthew Bourne's Highland Fling, multi awardwinner Noises Off and Donkey's Years, which will be coming to Theatre Royal Brighton with an all-star cast later in the year. Since taking over Theatre Royal Brighton in 1999, ATG has been responsible for revitalising the theatre's artistic programming and financial status.

The theatre is now once again established as a leading presenting house, with the highest calibre productions and star-led casts.

Under ATG, Theatre Royal Brighton is open 52 weeks a year and continues to survive, as it has throughout its entire lifetime, on box office receipts alone.

While catering for the theatre's long-standing, loyal audiences, ATG has extended the range of productions for an enthusiastic, younger clientele and introduced new initiatives including Theatre Royal Brighton Productions, the Associated Company scheme and an educational arm.
