Twenty tonnes of manure created a stink for firefighters after catching fire.
The blaze at New Barn Farm in Swallows Lane, Dial Post, near Horsham, spread to an adjacent barn which contained four tonnes of straw.
Firefighters were called to the scene at around 9.50pm last night (tues) and were there for more than two hours to make sure the site was safe.
The exact cause of the blaze is still being investigated today but it is believed to be accidental.
Crews attending included Partridge Green, Horsham, Storrington and Burgess Hill.
