East Sussex County Councillor Stephen Shing met Prince Andrew to discuss the Olympic Games.

He was one of a hundred community representatives invited to a China Now! meeting at the Mandarin Hotel in Knightsbridge, London.

The event was held to celebrate the forthcoming games in Beijing next year and London in 2012.

Coun Shing, who represents Willingdon and Polegate, spoke to Prince Andrew about how relations could be improved between the UK, Chinese and mainstream communities.

He said: "It was enormously re-assuring to hear from Prince Andrew about just how hard so many people are working towards achieving this.

"The over-riding remit of the meeting was to shine the spotlight on the two countries due to host the most prestigious sporting event, to look at common issues and take forward common solutions."
